Weekend Rewind

January 13, 2014

I was off on Friday - and I went to the Dr.  I have been having pains in my breasts for a few weeks now, and let me just save you the trouble in case you have breast pain (with no lumps, or concerns) - the answer is Vitamin E.  LOL  That is what it boils down to after 3 different appointments (2 with my OB and 1 with a breast specialist).

I went to buy a couple of bras that the breast specialist recommended (she said all that I could do was take Vitamin E, wear a specialty bra or plastic surgery - she recommended a breast reduction to remove some nerves and ease pain - I don't think so!), and then I met my friend Vicky for lunch.  We haven't seen each other in a few weeks, and we had some catching up to do.  It was nice to get together and vent about a few things.

I picked up the girls from school and we went home to hang out.  We watched tv, cleaned house and did some laundry.  At 9:30 I took them over to Cold Stone for a treat and then we put on a movie!  I am really diggin this whole Net Flix deal - I don't know why it took me so long to jump on the band wagon!

Saturday morning I went to Hit (I'll have you know that I have not missed a single class all week!!  I did HIT last Saturday, Monday - I did Hit and Taekwondo, Tuesday - I had a rodeo meeting, so no classes - but I did two miles at the gym at work; Wed - I did HIT and Taekwondo class, Thursday I did both again and HIT this morning!)  My body hurts but I am loving that I have stuck to it and am feeling at the least energized - one of these days I will feel energized and HOT! LOL

I came home after class and showered.  I stayed up and read for awhile.  The girls got up and Issy convinced me to go see Frozen in 3D.  (I'm not a fan of 3D movies - I get headaches - but she was so geared up and excited - I couldn't resist).  Makaila had already seen the movie so I took her to her friends house to hang out for awhile instead.

Issy and I went to the movies and loved it.  It was  great movie!  As Makaila pointed out - the only Disney princess movie where it shows that you don't need a man to save you! LOL

We did a little aisle shopping at Target - and surprisingly walked out empty handed.  We headed home and picked Makaila up on the way.  The girls and I hung out and watched tv.  The kids got to playing with the neighbors and I made pork chops and rice.  Danny headed to work and I spent the rest of the evening outside enjoying some wine and laughter with the neighbors while the kids played.  Three bottles of wine and temps of 48 degree cold outside later - we headed inside and got into bed.

Sunday morning while we were getting ready for church my neighbor Nina called and said she wanted to join us!  This makes me happy on so many levels.  I love taking people to church with me, cause if they feel just an inkling of the peace and love I feel when I go, then I know they will love it and be happier!

We headed to church with all the kiddos in tow.  While I did my greeting Makaila and Nina checked the kids in to thier classes.

Church Notes:
Part 1 of Series: Balance vs. Burnout (based on the 23rd Psalm)

1. Make Christ the Shepard of your life (it's a choice - when Christ is your Shepard you will not wander on your wants - cause God meets all your needs)

When you make Christ your life Shepard - he will grant you
    * Provision
    * Restoration  - he can make you whole again
    * Direction  - indecision is worse sometimes than no decision
    * Protection - If God be with us then who dare be against us
2. Make time to Nourish my soul - Slow Down in your hectic life and deliberately make time for Jesus. Pray more, meditate.  The secret to a balanced life is a nourished soul; and a nourished soul is created by studying the word of God)

3. Make decisions based on God's call; not other's agenda's.
Stop trying so hard to make everyone else happy and do things that they need- and work on making yourself whole instead.  The most important person to please is Jesus.

Remember how BIG God is
Remember How much he cares!!

After church on Sunday we all headed home and enjoyed the barbacoa that Danny brought us home for breakfast.  It was such a pretty day outside that we packed some snacks and Nina and I took the kids to the park for a couple hours!  It was nice.  The kids had lots of fun!

After we played at the park we went home to rest.  After awhile I got up and started my meal planning for the week.  Danny took off to work and the girls and I headed to the groceries.  We got everything we needed and went home on a mission.

I washed all the bedsheets, and all Issy's clothes, while they cleaned the kitchen.  We made a pizza for dinner then the girls made some brownie cookie dessert treat!  It was yummy!!

We were done - all clean beds, washed clothes, clean kitchen and everything by 9 pm.  The girls went to bed and I put away all the clothes (mostly).  I think have two loads of whites left for during the week and we are done.  I really need to get a maid to start coming and doing all the regular dusting, fans and windows kinda cleaning!! If you know of someone that does the Humble area and is good (I've had a few duds)...let me know!!

We had a good weekend and I am very happy that Nina and the kids joined us for church!  I told Makaila that there is no better feeling to me than seeing people go to church and feel that joy wash over them!  I know that my church isn't for everyone (or church period), but for me it provides such a sense of awe and wonder.  I love going and feeling like my worries are taken over, and my burdens are lifted.  I know my prayers are heard and I get caught up in the praise and worship most of the time brought to tears of overwhelming joy feeling the love and presence of God in that place in that moment!

Makailas asked last night - "so is that gunna be our new routine for church with Mrs. Nina and the kids?  Cause I can dig it!"  She also mentioned that she likes going to the adult service and taking notes and stuff and praying there more than the youth services.  I really want her to go to the youth services and make friends and get involved - but I won't push her.  The fact that she is so happy in adult service will suffice for now!

Nina - if your reading this you just got called out (again).  Make this a routine on Sundays.  Go, and take the kids!!  Makaila is all for helping and I know you will benefit in so many ways by going!!

Oh - they talked about a 30 day devotional over Ephesians that will start this week - so I bought the devotional book ( Rise above your Chains by Kjell Axel Johanson) and I am looking forward to starting this devotional).  I have never actually followed through with one - so I'm a tad nervous - but I know only good things will come from it.

Wish me luck and have a great week! Remember - you are loved..even more than those delicious chocolate chip brownies shown above! LOL :)
