Danny and I both stayed home from work because we literally couldn't get placed because of the water...the kids school was canceled and so Monday was a stay at home, make pancakes, and watch the news kinda day!! We made lunch, Izzy made cookies (but got carried away with her sassiness and ended up getting spanked for talking back and being disrespectful). Makaila and I spent the majority of our day watching Blue Bloods on Netflix! I love that show...we are watching all the seasons together!!
The rest of the week was pretty smooth. The rain cleared away for the most part, and then it was back to our regular routine. We made dinner, Makaila went to taekwondo, I did Hit, and Makaila went to Abby's to work on her Spanish project! I was off on Friday, so I slept in a bit, then headed out to get a mammogram!
Girls - it is very important to do this regularly. It isn't for fun, or just because it is a necessity. Cancer unfortunately runs very strong in our family genes!! All 4 of my grandparents passed away from Cancer!! Grandma Belia had Breast Cancer in 2013, and I myself have had several tumors removed and tested (Thank God), none have been cancer...but it is so strong in our family that we need to get checked every year and be sure to do self check exams as well!!! I had my check up at St. Luke's, then headed home. I ad lunch at Rocky's with Danny, then stopped in at the Clearance Dillard's at Greenspoint but found nothing, so left and headed home to clean instead. I didn't clean and instead went for a mani/pedi! LOL I picked up the girls from school and took them to Bahama Bucks for a treat! That night, Makaila babysat for Nina and Sean, while Danny and I went to buy last minute party stuff and enjoy dinner alone!
Saturday morning, we woke up early and I headed over to Henderson's to do a Saturday morning HIT class...talk about tired!! I came home, showered and headed over to Ernie's to set up for Grandpa Limon's birthday bash! Izzy and I got in the pool, but it was freezing!! Makaila dropped her phone and shattered her screen while we were setting up! She was devastated and Danny was pissed. We came home to get ready and then I decided to take Makaila to get her phone fixed. That took 4 hours of driving around the entire city and talking to folks. It was ridiculous, Danny ended up going without us and he was not happy when we got there! Makaila and I made it right around 7....and it was great. Grandpa Limon was happy and everything looked great!
The party was great. We headed home at about 1:30 and konked out!!
Sunday morning we went to church and I was asked if I would start doing to communion after our service. I agreed so now I will be your 10 am service greeter, collection person and your communion person! Wooohoo! After church we had lunch at the Chicken King and then headed back over to Ernie's to clean up the aftermath! We finished up quickly, then headed over to Sergio's office to help him finish moving stuff. I stayed until 5:30 and then took off to the groceries. I went to Mi Tienda and loaded up! Danny was exhausted too so we all took showers and I rubbed his feet and we fell asleep! It was a good weekend. We celebrated my father-in-laws 75th birthday. He was surrounded by all his kids and grand kids! It's being able to celebrate these milestones together and share this type of legacy with our kids that makes me happy!! Not everyone has a big close knit family and others take it for granted...so I am hoping that you girls know how blessed and lucky you are! I hope you look back on things like this and realize what a good life you have lived! How loved you are, and that you keep that legacy with your own children! I love you more than words can say!!
