Weekend Rewind

November 10, 2014

This weekend was great.  I woke up on my Friday off and got the girls ready for school.  I hitched a ride with Amy in the morning and we took the kids to Shipley's for breakfast...they looked so stinkin cute.  It was hat day at school and they were rockin the hats!

Danny and I went to the school and had lunch with Issy at 11.  I love that little smile.

Once we were done there, we headed over to Costco of course!  I know shocker huh!

What can I say...we are some Costco loving fools! We came home in time to pick up the girls and then hung out for awhile.  My parents came into town for a service at church in honor of one of their friends who had passed so we went over to my sisters house to dinner to see my parents.  Dad was feeling lucky and so Danny, Dad, Sam and I loaded up and headed to the casinos in Louisiana! LOL We are terrible, I know.

The girls stayed at my sisters with my momma and we headed out to test our luck.  Danny took me to Checkers on e the way there....he really love me!  Checkers is a must for me...I love their burgers and fries and there aren't any in Texas...I think its one of the only reasons I agree to go to gamble...so I can get Checkers!!!

Cashata had a mini KISS concert going on and it was adorable! The were mini people dressed like KISS putting on a concert...I had to get a pic!

We were there for several hours and neither Danny nor I had any luck at all!  I think my gambling days are coming to an end.  I finally admit that I suck at it and leaving broke doesn't feel good!!

We drove home and made it back at about 6 am! I was super tired, so I can only imagine how Danny felt since he drove us there and back! I tried to sleep in but Issy was up by 9, wanting breakfast and a cartoon partner..so I got up made her some grub and we lounged around all day.  Literally...we watched tv and vegged out! I got up in the afternoon and made some delicious pork roast and rice and veggies for Danny to have to pack for lunch. Then I decided we needed cookies too! LOL

We went to my sisters again to attend my nephews BINGO fundraiser!  While it was still gambling..I have way more fun!  I didn't win an actual bingo game but I won some other drawings and came home with a Wal-mart gift card and an AMC gift card!! Once that was done...we headed home and went straight to bed!!

In the morning we woke up super early and got ready for our race.  I signed the girls and I all up to run in the Addie's Faith Foundation run that raises money for childhood cancer research! Gina came over and rode with us and we picked up Jen too.  We made it a little early and walked around to check out the different auction items and things.  We saw Aubrey (Issy's best friend), and so they got lined up and ready to run the race together.  It was super cute to see all the kids who were running for an amazing cause!!

I got some cute pics of them running and then we lined up to run the adult race.  I did so much better this time than in any of my past races!!  I finished it this time without really stopping (I had to slow down two or three times), but I never gave up!! LOL  That's a big change for me! LOL

Makaila ran the race too..and It felt amazing.  After the race we were cooling down and getting snacks and waters, adn Makaila and Issy kept rushing me because they wanted to make it to church.  Gina and Jen were both a little awed that My girls were so anxious to get to church!  It made me fill with pride knowing that my girls value our church time as much as I do!

We dropped the laddies off and then got home and started feeling tired and lazy.,  Before it set in completed, we picked up and headed out to church in our running gear and Addie T-shirts!! We made it right as the message was starting.  We sat and soaked it in (but I don't have notes to share with you this week.  While I took notes..I cannot find them)  It was a guest speaker (Lee Strobel), and he talked about trusting in God and his process of believing that came over many years. He is a great speaker for anyone who has doubts about Christ or the church!

We headed back home after church and Danny got up and he headed to Cracker Barrel for a late breakfast!  it was delicious.  My poor Danny was so tired.  He got out of work at 7 am and rested his eyes only for a few minutes and we had him back up and out and about with us...he is a real trooper!

Once we wrapped up breakfast/ lunch we headed out to buy some meat and plan an impromptu dinner to celebrate my brother in law Ernie's birthday!

We met up at Ernie's and Danny cooked us a Discado, and Ceci brought a  cake and we spent the nice evening together laughing and being silly.  It was great!

Sarah serenaded him with her ukulele....LOL She is silly! We cleaned up our mess and then headed home to get ready for our week.  The girls and I all showered up and we watched a little tv, and then headed off to bed!

It was a great weekend.  Nothing crazy or over the top, but enough time with family and friends to feel blessed and joyful!! I hope you have a great week!

Don't forget to smile...they are contagious!!!!
