Weekend Rewind

September 22, 2014

On Friday, I came home from work and picked up the girls.....got them something to eat, checked folders, and what not, then I got ready.

My friend Teresea gifted me a ticket to the Luke Bryan concert for my birthday this year....adn Friday was the night!!!
She came over at about 4, and once we had the girls fed and ready...we left to the Woodlands.  It was kinda early, but we had lawn seats, so we had to be prepared!

We got into a line and were given Luke fans to keep us cool!!  Who would have thunk it...Luke Bryan was blowing down my neck....NICE!!!

We relaxed and enjoy the surprising breeze while we waited.  The opened acts were pretty good.  I didn't realize that I knew so many Lee Brice songs!

It was a great show and we had a good time.  I am grateful that Teresea shared her tickets with me and gave me Luke Bryan for my birthday! LOL

Saturday Morning I woke up with Issy in my ear at 7 am saying she wanted to get up and watch tv...so we did.  By 8 am I was doing laundry singing along with the tv adn Issy and playing "Cinderella/ Clean up" We cleaned under the couch cushions (which rarely happens - but when it does it is filthy!!).  There was all sorts of things under those cushions - along with the crumbs and lint I found pencils, pens, scissors, candy wrappers, candy, Papers, mail, crayons, jewelry, a key, some toys....its ridiculous!

Anyhow - we spent a few hours in the morning cleaning and then finally at 11, we got ready to go and headed out for the day.  We had to parties to go to on Sunday so we needed gifts.  We for some odd reason decided to go to the mall.  (That's weird because I love love love to shop - but I hate malls).  The kids said we needed to hit up a Disney store....so off we went.  We spent the next 6 hours in the mall!!!!!!! What a day.  We looked in just about every store.  Issy spent her Justice Gift car, adn we each got a new pair of shoes at the new Nordstrom Rack that opened up at Willowbrook a few weeks back, but we still left the mall in needs of gifts for others.

We drove down the road to Target and got some clothes, and toys and gift cards and goodies and then headed to Downtown to meet Danny for dinner at Van Loch.  It was yummy!!  Afterwards, we took the kids to Amy's but the line was a tad to long and we headed home instead.  We made a pit stop at Baskin Robins for some ice cream instead.

We got home and decided to show Danny all our great new shoes and Issy's purchase from Justice which was an Elsa wig to wear with her Frozen dress! LOL! LOL

Watch out...this little brown skinned Elsa may show up at your door on Halloween! LOL

On Sunday morning I got up early again and threw in another load of clothes to wash, took a shower and got ready for church!  We all were ready to go pretty early, so as soon as Rose and Jade showed up.,.we left to church.

Church Notes:

God's Faith Building Process
* Church is a place you come to find God and get his blessings.
* God can take your greatest failure and turn it into a great blessing.

1. The Faith Forming stage
This starts with a dream.  For Joseph he had a dream and felt like God has a calling for him to be a leader.  When we have these dreams we need to be careful who we share them with and how we share them.  Listen to God and talk to mentors.  Let God form your faith. Talk less and experience God more.

2. The character building stage. God wants to grow your character  to match your calling.  God is more concerned with who the dream makes you not where it takes you!!

* We let our problems strip away our pride, so you can turn to God.
* Temptation strips away everything but my integrity.
* Run when you are tempted.
* Be humble enough to turn to God
* He may have lost his coat; but not his integrity.

3. The selfless surrender stage
- remember that Joseph did all the right things and he still got thrown in prison. God has not forgotten you or the dream for you.  People will wrong you in your life...but you have a choice every time - get bitter or get better!!!

4. The faith fulfillment stage.
* Here you will serve others (have a selfless ambition)
* It will benefit the body of Christ

Remember that the dead end is the beginning of deliverance!!

How do you know that a dream or vision is from God?
1. It will serve others
2. It will benefit the body of Christ

He is building a forever family! Live the sermon.  If love is not the motivation behind your faith than it is destructive!!

After church we took a few pictures with the birthday girl, and then they took off to Bahama Buck's and  Issy and I headed home to wrap gifts.

We first headed over to Ceci and Ray's to celebrate Victoria's 20th birthday!!  Be bought her a Target Gift card and some cotton candy.  We hung out for awhile and then headed home to pick up gifts and go to Natalee and Nathan's birthday party.  It was a blast.  The party was Circus themed and they went all out...

We partied until we couldn't take anymore! LOL  Then we headed home to do some laundry and clean up.  Makaila and Danny got home a little later.  We ate some dinner and relaxed on the couch and called it a night!

I love my family and friends and my life.....It is far from perfect...but I am blessed to have healthy girls, a hard working husband, family that loves us, and friends who are family!!

Have a great week!!!
