Weekend Rewind - Dad's Birthday Weekend

May 5, 2014

Friday after work I headed home to get the girls and then loaded up after picking them up from school and headed over to my sister Erica's house.  My parents came in town and we cooked out on Friday night.  We made bacon wrapped shrimp, chicken, fajitas, guacamole - the works.  My sisters Erica, Sam, and our pseudo brother Eric all came over to hang out.  Eric's wife just had a baby a couple of months ago so we finally got to meet little Macy!!  She is freakin adorable and tiny as can be.

We all had a great time hanging out, laughing, eating and eventually making smores too!

I finally went home with the girls in tow at about 11pm.  We were tired.  We went straight to the showers to rid ourselves of the smoke stink, and then straight to bed!

In the morning my dad called by 6:50 am to let me know they weer on their way to the Garage Sales in Summerwood!  I am Salas through and through because I jumped out of bed and got ready for the garage sales.  I was pulling out of our garage to join in the fun as Danny was pulling into the drive from work! LOL

We hit tons and tons of garage sales from about 7:30 am until 11:00 am!  I was tired!  My feet hurt, my belly hurt from laughing at my parents so much! My dad jumped in the car with me after the first few garage sales and let me just say that old man is a riot.  He want to give advice to the people about their pricing, he told a kid selling water and I quote "Son - you'll never sell those waters if they aren't on ice - what are you thinking" Really dad! REALLY!!  Let the poor kid sell his waters!

I only bought some lights (which I do not need at all - but a set of 4 beautiful beveled  light fixtures for $5 - you can't pass that up - I am sure someone I know will need light fixtures! LOL I bought some stuff for Issy and that was it! I was sadly disappointed with my lack of treasure finds!!

Once we were done we all headed back to my house to unload and load up my parents car with all thier finds.  They bought all kinds of crap! LOL

They headed home and then I took Makaila to the school because she had a band UIL thing going on.  Once I dropped her off, we headed over to my sisters house once again.  Sammy was taking my dad to the casinos for his birthday - so we stayed back to hang out with my mom.

We hit up a few thrift stores and then went shopping over at the Fairmont shopping strip.  We bought my dad a pair of shoes he requested for his birthday and a few other things then ate at Chili's and went back to the house to relax.

That didn't last long because me and Erica took off to the Family Thrift out by her house.  Again - we laughed and laughed and bought a few things for myself and the kids.  I headed home at about 8 to pick up Makaila from her friends house.  Isabella stayed at my sisters because her and Emily were making a project for Grandpa! LOL

I picked up Makaila and we stopped at Bahama Bucks for a treat.  We made it home, chit chatted for awhile then showered and went to bed!

Sunday morning we woke up early (by 7:00) and started to get ready once again. We said hia and bye to Danny then went to buy some sweet bread and barbacoa, then headed over to Erica's to see the Birthday boy!!!

We hung out there and had breakfast and laughed at my dad opening presents, and then my mom treating him like a baby and removing his old shoes and trying on his new ones! LOL  Those old folks are a hoot - you gotta love em!!

Tony got there while the presents were going on with one more - and boy did that make Dad happy! LOL

Once we were done with all that we finally sat down to eat! LOL

My Tia Helly and Tio Fernando joined us and we sat around the table eating and laughing the day away!

we headed out at about noon, and made a pit stop at the segunda again to enjoy our 50% off! Makaila found a few great things and so did I.  We headed home and started washing clothes and cleaning house a bit.  I went to the groceries and stocked up for the week, and kept on washing. Time flew by and before we knew it - it was 9:30 and time for bed.

We had a great weekend.  I am glad my parents came into town and that we celebrated my dad's 63rd birthday!  My sister Nancy was missing in it all - but it was still great.

We are a healthy happy silly family and I love Love LOVE spending time with all of them laughing and laughing the days away!
