December 2017 Recap

August 30, 2018

We kicked off the month of December making gingerbread houses at Tia Sylvia's!  Izzy had so much fun!  Her little house looked good too.

After that we went to a Birthday dinner to celebrate our friend Cynthia's 50th birthday!  She is such a great friend and influence.  I wish I had a picture to share - but unfortunately I only have the memory of a lovely dinner at Papasito's with good friends blessed and happy!!

This first weekend - the elves made a comeback too.....UUUUUHHHHHH~

At the start of December we got a phone call from Aunt Pam letting us know that Uncle Pete had passed away.  He was a nice man, and I am glad I have had the pleasure of meeting him and Aunt Pam!  I am also glad to hear he is no longer suffering and enjoying paradise!  The girls were told that evening that their Grandpa Limon's brother had passed away and was with Jesus.  The next morning - Isabella gave this to Danny.  Is this not the most precious note a father could ever receive!! ~we can pray for him together~ can you think of a better offer?? I sure can't.  The fact that her innocent heart was bold enough to ask....that she took the time to make a card for him - it makes my momma heart so happy and proud of the babies we are raising!
That week we got a blast of the northern cold and Houston got some snow.  That's like stop the city kinda action - and that's just what happened.  The roads were shut down, offices closed and people were warned to stay home!  So who are we to argue...we stayed home, played , took the obligatory pictures then sat around the house for a couple days! LOL

Church was geared up for Winter Wonderlands and I loved the set-up....so my baby obliged with pictures...and Danny did too..reluctantly!

The snow only last a couple days and then it was back to regular 75 degree Houston Winter....so our little pirate took some backyard pics before her dress rehersal and she looked too cute! She is loving her dance school and the competitive dance team she joined.....its totally her cup of tea!

The next day was her Winter Recital and she has quite a large following come cheer her on!  Thank you to our friends and family for making our girl feel super special!

The rest of that weekend was spent crafting...and crafting and crafting some more!!!  We made shirts and totes, and cups and all sorts of goodies for our upcoming trip to Disney!!

I also spent several evenings wood burning some gifts for Christmas....

We wrapped up the school semester with a Christmas Party...Izzy's last Elementary School "WINTER" Party.....AHHHHHHH!!!!!  I'm not ready!  Makaila was a great big sister nd made it to see her enjoy her last party too...its the end of an era!!!!
Mid month when school let out - we took a week and drove to Disneyworld!!!  But girls you know as well as I do that that was picture and memory overload and will require its own separate post...so here is a tease pic, and the Disneyworld 2018 post will follow this one! We had fun.....PROMISE!!

Once we came back from Disney it was a week till Christmas - so we took our annual Santa pics...this time Carlos was Santa not Tio Fidel....Whatever works!

Anna and Jonathan gave Izzy a make-up set and caboodle that produced this ear to ear smile reaction!

That same week my sister Samantha gifts us all tickets to see the Nutcracker - so we had a sisters day together at the theatre!!!

We had a good time and the show was good....although I don't think it was something we will do again - it was a great experience and I love seeing them and doing things like this together!

Christmas Eve services were in full swing - and this year the church asked if Isabella could be a part of the Christmas services...all 18 of them!  She played the small child in a part of the Christmas story narrative....she was too cute.  So while she acted at every service the rest of us volunteered at a few and enjoyed the message!

Nancy and Lexie even brought baby AnnaLeah to see Santa!

On Christmas Eve we continued the tradition of hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa Limons house to laugh and talk and watch A Christmas Story and opening gifts at midnight.

We headed home and the next morning we woke up to open our gifts at home on Christmas Day!!

For some strange reason I have no pictures of this in my camera roll - but Danny gave me a car for Christmas!  SERIOUSLY!!!  He went and bout me a brand new car and they put a bow on it, parked it in our garage and surprised me with it on Christmas morning!  Yes....surreal...the kinda stuff seen on Hallmark movies....it was awesome, and I don't take for granted for one second how much  of a blessing it was and is!  It was so sweet, and while I will not lie to you and tell you that I was thrilled because lets be real...cars cost money and Danny went about spending a big chunk of money I would not have agreed to had we talked about it before hand....but what's done is done...so I am driving a new car!!

Tradition continued and we cleaned up and headed over to Erica's for Christmas Day with my side of the family!

We ate, opened gifts, laughed and then wrapped it up and came home to nap!!

With all the Christmas festivities over and cleaned up.....we moved on to the next task at hand and that was prom planning! We took the next few weekends left to try on EVERY dress and get an idea of what she was and was not looking for.....some duds, some maybes, but nothing that had her saying...YES!!!!!!!!!!

Before the year ended - my girlfriends and I had our Annual Christmas dinner, which did not disappoint.  We laughed like hyenas, ate a good meal, laughed some more and did some much needed catching up!

As you can see - there is a good reason why I fell behind on doing these post....we were busy living, loving, and laughing and making some freaking awesome memories!! And if this post didn't convince you of that, then go ahead and click on the next one...cause Disneyworld in December was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
