Weekend Rewind - Say YES to the Dress

January 12, 2015

Friday after work was nothing exciting.  Makaila was babysitting for the Tolleys and me and Issy were on our own.  Uncle John had given teh girls gift cards for Christmas and they were burning holes in thier pockets, so since Makaila was away babysitting, Issy and I went to Target to see what we could find!

Issy spent all her money and a bit of mine too! LOL

She got this adorable hat :

It was featured from the new Annie movie and she looked awesome in it, so we got the hat plus a movie and a couple books! LOL We stoped at the dollar store and TJ Maxx too - but didn't find much at either of those.  Makaila came home at about 9:30 and since it was just us girls we treated ourselved to a cone at Baskin Robins before calling it a night!

Saturday morning - we woke up and got ready and headed over to St. Arnold Brewery to celebrate Tia Brenda's birthday!
We had never been so it was pretty cool.  The kids played games and did puzzles and had a great time.

We stayed there for a few hours and then decided to make a trip out to Harwin again to check out 15 dresses yet again.  This time our goal was to finalize some stuff on Makaila's decisions because she has been pretty wishy washy up to this point!

We spent the next few hours going from store to store trying on dresses for both Makaila and Isabella! Isabella sometimes tends to think that the world revolves around her and she enved up trying on just as many dresses as Makaila and then crying ont eh way home becuase she didnt get one.

At the last store of the evening (after 4 hours of shopping) Makaila tried on the dress (which she has already tried on at other stores all day and many times before today), and made the final decision that she was done looking at dresses and this was the one!!!!!!

I took a ton of pictures and wiped away my weapy tears.  I swear I still cant believe she is about to be 15!!!! I spent the next hour wheeling and dealing, bargaining prices and take home agreements, and finally we went home with the dress in hand, a petticoat, a beautiful crown, a bouquet and some grumbling tummies!

We headed home because Danny called off from work and was waiting for us at Grandma Limons.  They were hanging out next door at Tia Sylvia's so we joined them.  Pizza was ordered, and good times were had.  We hung out with them by the fires until about midnight and called it a night.  Makaila had Alec pick her up and so it was just us and Issy.

Sunday morning was ugly.  It rained all morning.  We woke-up and headed to church.

Church Notes:

Devine Decision Making

* Even the smallest decision can have the biggest impact.

The basis for most bad decisions:

* Following your feelings
* Letting circumstances decide - (They change and are unreliable)
* Looking to popular opinion (people are fickle)

Wisdom is the God given ability to make decision from a divine and eternal perspective.
* Don't get paralyzed and make no decision - because that sis worse than a bad decision.
God is not limited by time and space - his is in the present past and future!

What are the benefits of divine wisdom?

* Insight - the ability to look beneath the surface.
* Foresight - the ability to see where the path leads before you get there.
* Hindsight - the ability to look back and learn from your mistakes

How do I get divine wisdom?

1. Fear the Lord : Have awe and reverence for Christ alone.  Being in awe of other people or talents leads to people pleasing.
2. The Wisest decision: Place my trust in Christ to save me.  Humbly admit I need him!!!

The way of Wisdom: Give God my first and best by giving God the:
* First day of the week (1hr to focus on him and his message)
*First part of my day - praise for life, reflection time, meditation, 10-15 min. of reading scripture, etc.
Don't ever make a decision without praying about it.
Two things that change you the most are the books you read and the people you spend time with!!!

After church we hung out at the house bummed it and watched football.  Danny made Taco soup and Ceci brought Makaila home in the afternoon.  We decided to head over to Dillards and shopped there for a bit.  We bought a couple knick nacks and then back home to lounge around watching tv all afternoon, until it was time for bed!

It was a low key weekend but a highly accomplished one!  We have the dress out of the way....now to tackle the other business!!

Save the dates will be next!!  have a good week!
