Memorial Day Wrap Up

June 1, 2016

We started the last week of May with Izzy being sick!  I thought for sure she had strep or something like that  (especially cause her good friend Aubrey was battling strep) - but I took her to Dr. Farrior on Monday and both the initial strep and flu tests done were negative!

She was steady having headaches and high fever, so she stayed home again on Tuesday.  I came home at noon and relieved Danny.  She did crafts and watched some tv, while I worked and got on a few conference calls.

By Wednesday she was feeling much better and headed back to school!  That night she went to dance, and I sat in the car watching blue bloods.  Afterwards, I left to pick up Scrapbooking stuff, got halfway there and again LaJeana stood me up!  This is a nasty little pattern, but oh well things happen, I turned back home and went to get dinner done instead.  It was late, so we each did some heating up of left overs and called it a night early!

On Friday I worked until about 1, then headed home to clean up a bit.  The rain was coming down like crazy and I thought scrap booking would have to be canceled,  but Teresea came over and Margaret joined her a bit later.  We made our May layouts, and then hung out.  We picked up some Chinese food in the rain, ate dinner and just did some catching up!  The rain was perfect go to bed early weather, so we did!

Saturday morning we all got up early and headed out to Spring.  We dropped Makaila off at the CPR class she was taking and spent the next few hours driving around aimlessly while we waited on her!  We had lunch at Mamacita's afterwards.  The kids both had attitude from hell...and yet we headed home and packed bags for a random weekend adventure!

We thought about going to San Antonio and then at the last minute turned around and headed to Kemah Boardwalk instead!  We bought the girls both all day ride passes and spent the day watching them ride every single ride!  these kids are fearless.  I was amazed at the things they rode...they are most definitely braver than me!!!

The rode to their hearts content and had a blast.  We left there and headed over to the Monument Inn for dinner.  It was delicious!!  We stuffed our faces and then headed home to get some rest.  Our adventures would continue in the morning!

Sunday morning we woke up early and once again got on the road to an adventure.  This time we ended up in San Marcos. We spent a few hours shopping at the outlets, and then drove over to Driftwood for lunch at the Salt Lick!  YUMMY...after wards Izzy headed home with Sergio, so Danny and Makaila and I went back to the outlets to walk off our meal.  We found way to much stuff!  They closed at 7, so we mad ea Bucee's Pit Stop then made it the rest of the way home!

On Monday it was Memorial Day, so we were all off of work!  Izzy was out and about with Sergio, and we decided to Bar-B-Que.  We invited Ceci and Ray over and the kids too....the guys made burgers, and chicken and roasted corn, and the rest of us laughed and giggled and put together my loteria cards (that may or may not have been sitting there for a couple years).  The we did what Mexican's do best..and spent the next few hours playing Loteria!  Once again - I got whopped.  I lost my ass off...but had fun doing it...so that's all that matters!

I took Tuesday off as vacation because Isabella and Makaila both had Awards ceremonies going on that I did not want to miss out on.  At 11, I headed over to Izzy's school and saw her receive and award for A/B Honor Roll.  We had lunch and then headed home.
I spent the rest of my day washing all her bed sheets, and then we got  a great idea and spent some time playing loteria (with monopoly money- just for pactice!) LOL.

At 5 we all got ready and headed out to Makaila's Honor Award Ceremony.

She received two awards.  One for Academic Excellence in Geometry and another for BIM.  This wraps up May of 2016.

School is out in a couple days and summer begins.  Thank you Lord for another successful school year.  Thank you that the girls made it, with only a few hiccups here and there.  Thank you that this summer is going to be fantastic!  This coming weekend we are looking forward to the District Tournament in Dallas....so prayers that this rain lets up and all this flooding comes to an end!  We have had record floods and so much damage in the Houston areas, that it is scary!  More rain is expected later this week...so say a little prayer for all those affected!  Have a great week and Happy June!
