Weekend Rewind

December 9, 2014

Can you believe we are in December!!  That is crazy.....this year has flown by at rapid speeds!!  I was supposed to be off on Friday, but work was super hectic, so I ended up working.  I was a little sad because by having to come to work, I missed out on Danny getting all suited up for his interview.  I was so looking forward to that!  I prayed for him from my desk at work instead.

I wrapped up my work at about 2, and headed over to my in-laws to help Ceci set up for Ava's Baptism.  Danny picked the girls up from school after his interview and came by to help.  I was and still am so proud of him and happy for him!!!

We headed out and did some last minute shopping at the mall to get some gifts for the weekend!  We had an early morning event and a couple parties coming up soon....not to mention Christmas right around the corner.  We went to Dillards and loaded up on some gifts, then headed out to eat.  We ate dinner and then called it a night because we had to be up on Saturday morning.  We all showered up and headed to bed!

Saturday morning Danny headed to work and the girls and I got dressed up and ready to go to Ava's baptism.  We gussied up and headed out....and please let the record show that we were early!! That is a rarity in our household....so take a picture, write it down and keep it in the memory bank....the Limon's were looking cute and early to boot! LOL

The ceremony was cute and then we all headed over to my in-laws for breakfast and fun.

In the afternoon we walked over to Market street to watch teh Christmas Parade.  Actually - that's a lie - we could have walked but instead we piled as many people as we could fit in the car - which turns out to be 16!!!  We were packed like sardines and laughing the whole time! The parade was cute and we had a good time!!

We walked back - cause there was no way we could all get back in tehre a second time!  The girls and I loaded up and brought Alec and Carlos home with us.  They were going to go to a 15 with Makaila later that night.  The neighbors were hanging out on the block when we got home, so I stayed outside and hung out with them for awhile!

Nina was up to her Christmas blow up antics once again this year!! LOL

Danny got home and dropped the kids off at the 15 for me.....and then we all went inside and watched tv for awhile until the kids called that they were ready to come home! They didn't last long - they called by 11, and said the cake was horrible and we could pick them back up! LOL

We picked up the kids and headed home.  I went straight to bed because I signed up for another run and I needed to up and ready by 7:30!!!

Like clockwork, Gina came over at about 7:30 and we loaded up and headed out to U of H to do the Graffiti Run!  It was fun.  I finished in 32 minutes!!  It turns out it is really much easier to finish these babies in the cold weather! LOL

I made it home intime to go to the 11 service, and Lucky fo rme they had waited for me...so we went as a family.

Church Notes: Mystery Gift
Part 4 of Series : Marriage Mystery  - Discovering the Secrets of a Lasting Love

The purpose of a marriage is to reflect God's love.  How do you unwrap teh mystery gift to understand each other better?

1. You appreciate imperfect Gifts!!!  Learn to be grateful.

As a couple you need to understand each others differences.  James 1:5 says "if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.:

Accept each other's differences.  Stop trying to change your mate, let God work on them in his own schedule.

Men are the gift bow and the women are the ribbons and bows...they go together.

2. Honor the perfect Gift.
Marriage is like a triangle - the more you honor God, the closer you become together.

* An act of Honor sets in motion the blessings of God.

* Dishonor blocks his blessings

* We must give God his place of honor in our lives and honor our spouse the same way.

* There are three blessings God unlocks in our lives when we honor him: Divine Guidance, Divine Restoration, and Divine Provision.

WHEN YOU PUT HIM FIRST HE PROVIDES IN OVERFLOW!!!!

After church as usual, we headed over to the house to watch the Texans game.  Once it was pretty much wrapped up, we headed over to the Woodlands Mall to do a bit of shopping.  I don't know why we go to the mall with my cheap ole self!! Everything is so overpriced!! LOL  I still managed to get a couple things at Dillards and Nordstrom, and then we headed home.  By the time we left the mall my foot was killing me.  I was fine all day and all of a sudden...I couldn't walk on it without a shooting pain!! It was horrible.  Danny of course tells me thats what I get for doing 5K's without training!  He is probably right - but my foot hurt so much I could care less at that point!!

I went home and tried ice adn pain killers nad went to bed instead!

Monday morning - I woke up to go to work, adn I couldnt walk!!! My foot was killing me.  SO I called in adn decided to work from home instead.

I spent my day responding to emails, updating files and wrapping Christmas presents!! It was a much needed stay home day for me!

This week has alot to pack into it...Danny's Birthday is coming up and We bought tickets to a play, and some Parties....woohooo.....bring it on December!!!

Have a good week! FYI - My foot still hurts!

Interviews for New

December 3, 2014

This week Danny has a couple interviews lined up!  I am so super excited for him.  He has been looking for a job for months.  I have seen him searching, and applying and I have been praying and praying and for months this has happened with nothing to follow.  I could see in his face the frustration and the defeat, and I continued to pray for him.

Danny has some testing lined up for a great job this week and I am super psyched for him.  But let me just give you a glimpse of how Awesome our God is.  Not only does he have some testing lined up, but last night I was talking to my girlfriend on the way home, catching up on our weekends and the daily life to do's, and then later I took the girls to Karate, and to get some quick dinner and I got a call from Danny.  He said that my friends husband had called him to let him know about a job opportunity with his company.

To say we were shocked and awed is an understatement.  Not only was he blessed with a testing session for one job, but without even thinking about it, another opportunity just kinda fell in his lap!  That's kinda how God works.  When you think you have his blessings poured down upon you..he pours a little more!!  Danny went from looking defeated and hopeless, to looking excited and eager and hopeful.  It is a good thing to see from my perspective.  As his wife I want nothing more than to see him happy.

I'm not sure what will come from wither of these opportunities, but I am so grateful for them both.  I am grateful that Danny can finally see a glimpse of the potential I see in him everyday!

Please pray for Danny and his job opportunities.  That god's will be the way in both situations.  Pray that God give Danny the guidance, the words and the wisdom to do well in his testings and his interviews.  Pray that God bless him in this coming year with a change that will bless him in ways that he doesn't even imagine!

And know that whatever it is your praying for....God hears your prayers adn works on his own schedule....so be patient and faithful and know that God's plans for you are bigger and better than anything you have planned!

Have a great week!

Weekend Rewind

December 1, 2014

Friday morning we woke up and hung out at my moms with my sisters and parents until about 1pm.  We ate and then packed up and headed home to tackle the Christmas decorating!

On our way home Danny loves me so much that he took me by the Annette's store that opened up on 45 (I told him on the way to my parents that the store had opened and I wanted to go there  - so he obliged!).  The store was cute but I was too cheap to buy anything! LOL

We headed home and unloaded all our stuff, checked the mail, repacked a bag for Issy and headed back out.  We went and had an early dinner at Piolo's in Midtown.  It was fantastic! I love their food!  It is probably one of my favorite pizza places of all time!

We enjoyed our meals as a happy little family (actually to be honest I think everyone was so hungry we were cranky and Issy was in whinny mode - so it wasn't pleasant; but once the food came, everything was better! LOL)

We met up with Teresea because Issy had plans to spent the weekend with her Tia! LOL  She loves her Tia and I will show you why in a few minutes.

We dropped her off and headed over to Costco (REALLY - Yes...you know we love Costco).  We picked up a few Christmas gifts, and some odds and ends and then headed home! We didn't do any Black Friday shopping online or in stores...so we decided to make a few pit stops and see what we could find.  We bought a few decoration things at Michael's, then checked out the ornaments at Target, and by then we had our fill and headed home! LOL

Let the record show that we walked into Target and back out without buying a single thing!! That is a rarity.  Makaila bought two shirts.....but Danny and I bought nothing! WOOOHOOO

Saturday morning I woke up early and put up our Christmas tree and some of the mantle decorations we bought at Michaels the night before.

At about 10, Makaila finally woke up and got ready and her and I went to the movies.  We picked up kolaches on the way and then we went to the mall to see Beyond the Lights.  Makaila has been wanting to go see this movie for months.  She was super happy to have gotten that checked off our to do list.  It was a good movie.  Once we were done, we headed back home and helped Danny with the Christmas lights.  I made a couple trips to the store for odds and ends and then at about 5 Makaila nd I started to get ready.  A few weeks back Makaila bought me ticket to the Steven Curtis Chapman JOy Concert, and we were both supper excited to be going!!!

We drove into Downtown and walked over to the Bayou Music Center.  We took our seats and enjoyed the show.  It was great.  I wish that they had sang some of their regular soms as well but everyone stuck to Christmas songs only!! Next time he comes I will treat Makaila to the concert!

We had a great time either way and we ended up meeting with Jose, Alexis, Brenda and the kiddos because they were at the concert too.

Afterwards we headed home and watched a little tv with Danny before heading to bed.

Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for Church.

Church Notes:

Part 3 of Series: Marriage Mystery - Discovering the Secrets of a Lasting Love

"Jesus looked at them intently and said, ' HUmanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible"

Mission Impossible: Understanding Women - Is it really an unsolvable mystery?

1. How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days?  A women struggles sometimes to know if she is worth it.  A husband need to work on giving his wife her worth and value.  Appreciate her and make sure she knows exactly how you feel about her.  Boost Your confidence and express your love!

2., Sleepless in Seattle.  Do you hear me?  Are you listening to her? Give her unconditional love.  Listen to her problem; but don't always try to fix them. Showing her love and affection and appreciation should be a privilege and not a burden.  Talking is key!!!!!  OPen your ears and your hearts; give them comfort and encouragement.

3. A Walk to Remember - Do you see and Care about how I feel?  " So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.  This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin."      Heb 4:14-15

4. The princess Bride - Are you coming for me?  Fight for her! Honor her!! Divorce is not an option!!
A woman needs that sense of security in knowing that you are in it for the long haul.  That whatever obstacle she faces, you are in it with her and that there is no walking out or giving up!!

A woman usually asks of her man the asme questions that we all have for God!

The mission as he sees it (husbands): To Protect and Provide

The mission as she sees it (wives): To Connect and Walk Alongside

The mission as God sees it: To love your wife in a way that reflects His love for the World!

Once we left church we headed home to watch the Texans game.  It was no buneo, so we headed out instead to pick up Issy from Teresea. We stopped by my inlaws to visit for awhile and then on our way home decided to go to Joann's for fabric to make stockins as well as back to Target to get teh Ornaments that I saw on Friday.  I loved them and picked up a set for myself and one set for my in-laws!

Aren't they cute:

While Issy was with her Tia Teresea I got pics of them:

This kid id so loved.  She took her to the zoo, to the Bass Pro Shop to get pics with Santa, she let her make dinner, and then they made an elf on the shelf gingerbread house!! Im so glad that she has Teresea in her life to show her love and do all the these things with her!
