School hasn't even start yet and I already hate AHS!
This school has set up a paper packet pick up date last week, (which of course are during hours that working parents can't attend). Why aren't these forms available online? We have to do an online registration - why do we have to do another one in the school, and pick them up in person....REALLY?!?!?
Then there was a flight school thing going on at school today and then there is fish camp tomorrow!! Do they think parents sit at home just twiddling their thumbs or what the hell!!?!!?!?
And what the hell is flight school anyway?!?!? I had no clue...so we skipped it thinking Fish Camp which was listed as Freshman orientation would be more important....come to find out...I was wrong. Flight school was actually student registration!!! WHY NOT CALL IT FREAKIN REGISTRATION THEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today was when students would take their school ID photos, pick up their schedules, lockers, and books!! We missed it!!
And I called the school to find out what to do ...the not so friendly front office lady with the not so pleasant attitude informed me that if we missed flight school, then my child would just be behind on the first day of school. LOL
Wouldn't that make more work for them?!?! Doesn't it make sense to have a make-up session, or maybe even an evening session, for people whose parents actually have to work for a living!?!?!?
Whatever...don't threaten me with a good time!! If more work on the first day of school is what they want....be my guest!!
LOL!!! Can't wait to go to Fish Camp tomorrow!!! This is gunna be fun!!!

Making Memories Monday
August 12, 2014
Yesterday I got home from work in time to make it to karate...but I was just not feeling it! Instead I took the girls and myself to get us each a much much needed haircut!
Look at my beautiful girls
Once we were done with our haircuts, we headed to the mall! We hadn't been to the mall in months! I love to shop....but I hate malls! They are over crowded, overpriced and I'm just not a fan!
But we lucked out and not too many people hit the malls on Monday (especially after tax free weekend), so we did some leisurely window shopping. Again - the mall is way too overpriced for my liking, so once we were done walking around aimlessly for awhile, we left the mall and had dinner at the girls fave Olive Garden! My babies were so happy. I know we spend every single weeknight at karate and it can get pretty taxing...so having a night like tonight was fantastic.
We all enjoyed some soup and a great dinner.

We left Olive Garden and headed home. But before we made it all the way home...Makaila offered to treat us all to some Baskin Robins! Who says no to ice cream....not this girl!
It was a fantastic impromptu Girls Night that had me going to bed smiling ear to ear.
It is so easy for us to get caught up in the busyness of life...but its nice to stop sometimes and smell the roses, hear the laughter and create the memories that are what life is really all about!!
Making Memories Monday was the best choice for our day!! Wouldn't change it for the world!!
Weekend Rewind - Texas Twister Tournament
August 11, 2014
This weekend was great!
Friday afternoon, I left work and came home to head to Allen, Texas! The girls and I were participating in the Texas Twister ATA Tournament and Danny and my parents were all coming with us!
When I got home, Danny had already ironed all our uniforms, and packed our bags,,I just needed to double check and add my stuff and we were ready to go! We hit the road at about 2pm, and then of course made the mandatory Buckee's stop in Madisonville!
We picked up my parents and drove the rest of the way to Allen. We spent the entire car ride smushed up against one another laughing and joking! I absolutely love my two old guys! They are a hoot!!
We checked into our hotel and relaxed for a bit, then met up with a couple of the other ATA families for dinner at Uncle Julio's. The food and company was fantastic. The kids entertained themselves playing with dough!

Saturday morning we all woke-up showered , got ready, had breakfast at our hotel. (Dad through the miniature salt and pepper shakers were "SO CUTE" so those magically disappeared from our breakfast table! LOL) We headed to the Allen Convention Center for our tournament and it was a REALLY LONG DAY!!!!!!!
Isabella was the first one called to compete of us three..and it wasn't until about noon...so from 8am - noon we were sitting around waiting and waiting and waiting!!
Issy competed in forms and sparring. She took 1st place in forms for her ring and did not place in sparring (but she did do fantastic...they were tied up , and the ring timed out....she held her own for sure)
Once she was done, we did some more waiting and waiting. Makaila's ring was finally called to stage at about 2:45, and then taken to their competing area at about 4:30!!!! At this point I was ready to not compete myself..I was tired and hungry and cranky! LOL
Makaila started and did an awesome form. She tied with another girl for 2nd place and had to redo her form....beating the other girl and taking 2nd place in forms! She rocked it. Of course it was our luck that as soon as she started gearing up for sparring...my ring was called so I didn't get to see her spar!
I hung out in the staging area waiting for a ring to open up to be assigned...luckily....we were sent to the same ring Makaila was in because they were close to being done! I was able to watch her do combat sparring. She did phenomenal! I was very impressed. This was her first time competing in combat sparring and she was really good! (I tried to upload the video here..but keep getting errors...so you can view it on my facebook page)
Makaila ended up taking 2nd place in forms and she was not happy! She was really looking forward to placing in sparring...and it just didn't happen..even though she rocked it! After she was done I tried to give her a high five and instead she walked past me and rolled her eyes...it took everything in me not to slap that kid!! I understand that she was pissed off about loosing her matches, but as a mom...it really pissed me off to see her act so disrespectful!! As much money as we spend taking these kids to tournaments and paying for ATA crap....that's how I get treated in return....I really need to rethink some stuff!!
I ended up competing at about 5 and I took 3rd place in forms and 3rd place in sparring. I was tired and hungry and ready to get the hell out of that place. it was already 6pm, when I finished up (sadly there were still other competitors who still hadn't even been called to the staging area!). I went to collect my medals only to be told that they ran out and would send them to our school a few weeks later. I was beyond caring at this point!
We all crammed into the car and went to eat! Once we all ate and changed we felt much much better! The mood in our car changed dramatically. We opted to drive the 1.5 hours to Oklahoma to gamble! LOL
Again the car ride was full of laughter the whole way there. We got to the Winstar Casino and spent the next few hours having some gambling fun!
Actually my parents and Danny gambled, while I walked around the gigantic casino with the girls hitting up all the shops and listening to the band play music and enjoying some ice cream! We had fun there and then headed back to my parents!
We got home at about 1am and all crashed out!
Sunday morning I woke up to my mom making coffee and putting away eggs she had collected from the coup! Issy woke up shortly after me and then spent her morning with Grandpa Matt collecting fruit from teh gardens to take home to her Limon grandparents!!
It was so cute watching her cuase she was in cloud 9...she was super happy! She loved the farm!!
She filled her baskets over and over and them came in to wash the fruit! I gave up and came back in...but Issy was steady picking!
Issy had collected peaches, apples, tomatoes, peppers, figs, grapes, "Mexican pickles" and pears! She was feeling all kinds of farmy! LOL
Once everyone was up and running my mom made us breakfast and we decided to drive into Jewitt to check out the flea market. We bought a couple things, but within about 30 minutes we were all drenched in sweat and feeling sick...so we headed back home!! It was too hot!!!!
My dad took us back through some farm roads that were beautiful..I made him stop so I could get some pictures of the girls...and I loved them...
We got back to the house and relaxed and dad made us a "Parillada" for lunch! Danny and I were laughing cause he said that word about 40 times!! LOL
For as much as we laughed at him...I take it back...cause it was delicious! That little old man can throw down some parillada! LOL
It was late afternoon, so we let the kids go take a few rides on the gator with grandpa and then loaded up to head home!
We drove home in peace and safety. We relaxed and unloaded the car...watched some tv, heated up some left overs for dinner and called it a night!
Our weekend was overall pretty darn fantastic!!!! But back to work! Have a good week!!
Grandpa Matt
August 5, 2014
My 94 year old grandfather has been having some breathing issues and irregularities with his heartbeat...so he will be undergoing surgery today to install a pacemaker!
My sister Nancy was able to drive to Dallas to be with him and my parents which makes me so happy....she sent me this picture of my dad and my grandpa and it really melted my heart:

I have never been close with any of my grandparents...but it is a true blessing to have a grandfather who is 94 years old and still around! My kids know him, and a few months back we visited with him and learned alot about our background and family. Please keep Grandpa Matt in your prayers that his surgery go well...and he have a speedy and successful recovery!
And on a totally separate note.....my dad has only one remaining sibling alive and they don't speak to one another. My dad has made attempt after attempt, but some peoples stubbornness and grudge holding knows no bounds....so if you have family....love them and embrace them cause so many others are not so lucky....
Life is too short to be mad at anyone or anything....love the people God has placed in your life, now that you have them instead of having regrets when they are gone!!!
God blessed me with 3 sisters that I love beyond the depth of the universe!! We are all different in our own ways, stubborn, and prideful and strong headed, and beautiful in our own ways...and I love each of them dearly. I cannot imagine holding a grudge against one of them or choosing to exclude them from my life or that of my children. They are part of what makes me the person I am, and I am eternally grateful for each of them. Call your sister or brother today and tell them you love them....tomorrow is not promised!!
If you have the luxury of having a living grandparent or parent....spend time with them....make memories with them...take pictures and include them in your life.....
Weekend Rewind
August 4, 2014
I am so glad this weekend is over!! It was a run of the muck kinda weekend. Thursday night, I picked Makaila up from karate (I had to work late - yet again). She was complaining about her thumb AGAIN!! She has been complaining about it for weeks, and then refuses to ice it like we tell her too.
She was sparring in class and got kicked while blocking and it was swollen. She iced it down, we ate dinner and where hanging out at the house and she kept complaining about the pain, so at about 10 pm we took off in the stormy weather to find an Urgent Care or Emergency Clinic to get her checked out. We ended up off the Beltway at the Memorial Herman Emergency Clinic......(BIG MISTAKE). We were there 3 hours later (and all they had done was take her vitals and sent us back out to the waiting room). Finally at 1am...I gave up (the girls were both asleep waiting), and we were no where in sight of being seen! I took them home and decided to take her elsewhere in the morning!!
We slept through Band camp, and then got ready to go. I talked to Danny and he suggested we call Kelsey to see if we could get an appointment that day. That worked. They gave us a 2pm appointment in Spring. We finished getting ready and then headed to Office Depot to get some on sale school supplies! Once that was done we headed over to our appointment a little early. We saw the dr., got some x-rays done, and turned out nothing was broken. The tendons were swollen, and she suggested we ice it for 2 days then apply head until the swelling was completely gone.
While we were there Danny called and said he was headed to see his dr as well. You know that overwhelming panic that sets in. Like oh crap...when it rains it pours. I immediately felt panicky! I was thinking: why didn't they talk to you over the phone?, why are they calling you in on a Saturday?, is it serious? oh my goodness...my imagination was running wild!!
I finally heard back from Danny a couple hours later and it turns out he has kidney stones! Pray for my hun.....having kidney stones sucks!!
While he was still gone, we decided to go to Target to buy Hannah's birthday present. We had a busy schedule for Saturday morning that involved the Henderson's 20th Anniversary celebration all morning, Hannah's birthday party in the evening, and Danny and I going to check out a band for Makaila's 15 in the night!
We bought Hannah's gift and a few other items that were on sale! LOL When we got home, Danny decided to take us to a new place he had read about for dinner...Stomp's in Seabrook! Great choice...the food was great..prices were great and we had a fun time. We all ate, then drove around the Kemah area taking pictures of all the Seagull statues, and pulled up to their pier to check out the birdies!
It was a nice calm evening spent together...so we were pretty happy. Little did we know that it was the calm before the storm!
Aside from Makaila's thumb still hurting her...Issy started to have a tummy ache later that night.
Her tummy ache turned into tossing and turning and crying, and eventually turned into profuse vomiting! I'm not talking just a quick vomit and she felt better...I'm talking crazy uncontrollable painful vomiting, that just wouldn't stop. her stomach was in so much pain we could visibly see it constricting over and over and she would double over in pain!! After the third round of this...I showered both her and I to remove what got on us on our runs to the thrown.....and loaded her in the car with a bag and a bucket and headed straight to the medical center to Texas Children's Hospital. As a parent...I think we always fear the worst and I was thinking ruptured appendix or something crazy.....
Issy and I made it in 30 minutes and breezed through the ER...they took her back almost immediately...checked her vitals, asked some questions and started the testing. The doctor was in her room (no kidding) within ten minutes of our arrival!! The gave her some medicine to help with the nausea and vomiting and then we waited. She gave a urine sample, and we waited some more. She stared to fall asleep..saying she felt so much better after all the throwing up and was tired.
A couple other doctors came by to see her and ask questions, and decided poor Issy was suffering from a bad stomach bug that was going around. (To prove the point...another kid her age came in as we were getting discharged with all the exact same symptoms!!). Finally feeling better and relieved that it was nothing serious we headed home at 5am. I got home and slept for 2 hours, and then woke up to take Makaila to the special training at Henderson's with our old instructor Mr. H. I had no energy to stay, so I went back home and rested on the couch for an hour, and then got back up at 9:30 to pick her up.
Makaila and Danny left to my in-laws at about 11 am, and Issy and I stayed home resting and waiting for the bug to kick in again. We watched tv on the couch and played a board game, and colored for awhile....she was feeling way better, but given what the hospital said about the bug we decided to keep her home, no 20th anniversary celebration for her, or Hannah's birthday party.....she cried for awhile!
The day came and went and we stayed home for all of it. Makaila went to Hannah's party and Danny went to check out the band he was interested in for Makaila's 15...and me and Issy relaxed. I will say though that I was so exhausted and sleepy that I couldn't get to sleep! You ever have that feeling?
Sunday morning everyone woke up feeling good. Issy hadn't had any incidents all day Saturday, so we figured it was just a bad fluke! We all got ready and headed to church! The Ramirez's met us there and Karena, Ava and Carlos joined us too! The service was great. Pastor Mark talked about living for the pleasure of God and stop focusing on what others think of you or what others have!!
Honestly though I was able to hold Ava during service and I was distracted by all her cuteness. She was gooooing and smiling and I just couldn't resist playing with her. Despite the shhh's that I kept getting from Danny...I enjoyed that little precious baby during service!
After church we went back to our house and ordered pizza and had lunch. The kids all took off to Bahama Bucks and Ernie joined us so the big kids (adults) took off to Costco. We all bought a ton of crap and came home a couple hours later content! Everyone headed home and we sat on the couch and relaxed. We spent the rest of the evening in blissful peace! We had some dinner at a place in Deerpark called Southern Comfort...it was delicious (and they had a ton of animals mounted on the walls)!! We had some good laughs and Danny even helped me tackle the girls so that we could tease them and yell YOLO, and Turnt up at them...LOL(we are the point where we are embarrassing to Makaila...LOL)
It was a rough weekend...but I was with my girls and my honey. We shared some good time with Family and by the end of the weekend everyone was feeling good and happy!
Have a great week....and get some rest!! That's my goal!!
